I felt rubbish coming off the pregabalin which is similar to gabapentin in fact I’m still not right yet a month later. I’m taking a concoction from a herbalist which helps but my experience from last time was it takes about a month to get back to” normal”. I had to take the risk with the phantom pain and come off the pregabalin as I couldnt…[Read more]

  • After doing a lot of walking ie over 15,000 steps(pedometer), roughly two days later my stoma area becomes tender and painful and starts to exude bloody exudate.
Has anyone else struck this and found a way to mitigate it?

    • Hi Phil, I’ve only had bleeding from the stoma site once, and that was the first day I did a heavy workout at the gym, It settled quickly and hasn’t bleed since.

    • I have had quite a bit of bleeding from the stoma site after exercise, like on the bike in the gym, or when I wear the leg all day….I don’t know how to stop it or why. I am only a month or so post surgery though. Cheers, Ali

    • Phil, Hi. So glad you joined the site. I do have a crazy question. I got home on Monday after the first stage op and yesterday, unfortunately had a fall. I fell backwards off my wheelchair. I didn’t fall on the leg but bruised my lower hip bone…should I be contacting Munjed? The leg itself isn’t bruised. But just worried about the impact?? Cheers Ali
