I have decided I would like to get osseointegration ILP with knee replacement, basically very similar to Damien’s procedure. Has anyone had their procedures performed in North America tho? I would much rather have Dr. Munderis come to Canada and have my recovery at home and not have to travel such a long distance post-op. However, one doc here in Eastern Canada has said there are probably FDA restrictions on the implants that would not allow the surgery to happen in a Canadian Hospital. Wondering if anyone knows…?

If you want to talk so someone who travelled from the UK to Australia to have osseo on both his legs, he is a bilateral amputee, talk to Jaime Bertroux who is on this site. He could talk you through all the costs, time needed and recovery in Sydney. Hope this helps. Most of us have had to travel to have this done, although not as far as the UK or Canada…but it is worth it! Hope this helps. Cheers, Ali

How’s Jamie doing with his OI?  I would like to see more videos.  I’m still interested in OI, but as a bilateral I worry about falling.  And what’s with all the spam, lately?  How are you doing with your OI?  I saw the videos of you walking and the one with you barely using the crutch–pretty awesome.

Hi JR, Sorry about the Spam. My husband sorts it for me…sometimes! I am doing really well and have had the go ahead to come off the crutches so I am now walking with just one stick. It’s so great. I think Jamie is doing well. I will get him to post. Cheers, Ali
